Debbie Horley
Qualified Veterinary Nurse

I joined the team back in May 2002 as a Qualified Veterinary Nurse – how time flies!

I work at both of our branches, and enjoy the variety of roles that this gives me. My particular nursing interests are in nutrition, medical nursing, critical care nursing and in-patient care. I am very proud of our 24hr on-site emergency service and inpatient care. Through my years of working here I have frequently had the experience of being the nurse on duty, and being the worried owner of a sick pet.

My own pets keep me busy. I have a loopy chocolate labrador, Heath (aka Pony) who you will see regularly featured in the practice newsletter – usually for some naughty 'ate what he shouldn't' misdemeanour. His partner in crime is Willow, an older-but-not-much-wiser black labrador. The dogs do also redeem themselves by being regular blood donors for the practice. I also have 3 cats...........Willow, who is a ginger moggy (yes, I do have a cat and a dog with the same name – both were rescues and already named), Betty, a silver-shaded siberian, and Leuc, a rather ancient 20yr old black and white moggy. Much like many other members of the practice team, I also have a tortoise, and he's called The Rock.

Me, left, with Sarah and Alix - and Hickory or course!
