Anneli Pickup
Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Cambridge University in 1996 and since then have worked exclusively in small animal practice in this area. I came to The Veterinary Centre in 2006 as a locum and, as often happens with locums in this practice, I liked it so much that I stayed!

I work at the Twyford branch most mornings – it is a friendly local surgery and I have really enjoyed getting to know our Twyford clients and patients so well. After morning surgery has finished I head over to the main Henley surgery where I may be involved in operating, consulting, inpatient care or paperwork. I enjoy all aspects of small animal veterinary work and am currently furthering my skills in ultrasonography and endoscopy.

When I am not at work I am Mum to my 2 lovely girls Hannah and Megan. A lot of our time is spent looking after our pets – we have 2 rescue dogs (a perk of the job!) – Clive, a lovely old Staffie cross who is well known by most of our Twyford clients – and Lucy, a cheeky little Jack Russell cross who has recently joined us and makes us laugh every day. We also have a ginger cat called Sparky who I rescued as a tiny kitten in my first job – he tolerates the dogs and puts them in their place from time to time with a hiss and a bat on the nose but I think he secretly quite likes them! Our 2 guinea pigs, Fudge and Marshmallow, complete the menagerie (although the girls seem to think there is still room for a couple more waifs and strays...)
